A while ago I was watching the travel channel and they had a special about Disney World. I, like most people love all things Disney, but I was fascinated to see how much of the show was all about the VIP child.

Did you know that you can buy a ticket, apparently very limited in number, where they will close down the park to everyone else and you and your child can roam the park, essentially alone? You hunt for treasure, you have princess or pirate lesson, the whole “world” cater to your every whim.

Now here’s my question, which came first, the parks desire to earn more profit, therefore they have such an exclusive activity for spoiled little princes and princesses, or the parents spoiling the children beyond all recognition and the park

Our daughter is serving a mission and she’s loving every minute of it. She loves the bug bites, the blisters, the long hours, the leaking water through the ceiling, ok so not so much any of that, but she does love the work and the service, the rest is just life.

However as our sons and daughters head into the mission field the one thing they really need is news from home. They want to know that all is well, that they are missed, that they have support. They need that connection and well, so

She looks you right in the eye and with what sounds like should be real words she talks to you. It’s the cutest thing ever. She’s very sincere and very expressive. It makes you feel bad for not being able to understand her, like maybe you missed that day in English class and you should know better.

She gestures and

My daughter in law Shay has a degree in special education, she works with Autistic kids, Downs Syndrome kids and others. I think that’s all wonderful, however the thing that comes out of all that for me as a grandmother is how those lessons focus her on teaching her children. She has a 3 year old and a 1 year old and she gives them hands on experiences that help them to learn, grow, explore, have fun, pretend, all sorts of good things. They live in snow country so several months of the year

I had an old memory come to me the other day. We had gone to the lake as a family on a cool Sunday afternoon. We often went there after church with our arms full of stale bread or popcorn to feed the fish and the ducks. The lake has huge fish that swarm the docks and open wide their mouths as they leap for your offerings.

We had walked a ways out onto the dock and as usual kept reminding the children to stand back from the edge, don’t get too close! But my middle daughter got caught up in
