Onions and Cream Appetizer
This is a whole lot better than it sounds. It turns out sweet and creamy and with a slightly pickled flavor. Great with crackers

| 2 cup(s) water |
| 1 cup(s) sugar |
| 1/4 cup(s) cider vinager |
| 1 teaspoon(s) celery seed |
| 6 cup(s) sliced sweet onions |
| 1 cup(s) mayonnaise |
Onions and Cream Appetizer Directions
- In a large saucepan, combine the first 4 ingredients, bring to a boil. Drop onion rings into boiling mixture, cook for 5 minutes.
- Cover and remove from heat. Let stand for 20 to 30 minutes. Drain and cool
- In a bowl, whisk the mayo until its smooth, stir in onions. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Serve with crackers
- Often I will chop the onions instead of slicing them, it makes them easier to deal with when putting them on your crackers.
