  • 1 1/2 cup(s) beef broth or water
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon(s) minced garlic
  • 5 pound(s) beef brisket, well trimmed
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper
  • 12 ounce(s) chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoon(s) worcestershire

Slow Cooker Beef Brisket Directions

  1. Place brisket fat saide down, in 5 quart slow cooker. Spread garlic evenly over brisket, sprinkle with pepper. Arrange onions over brisket.
  2. combine chili sauce, broth, worcestershire sauce and sugar, pour over brisket and onions. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours
  3. Turn brisket over, stir onions into sauce and spoon over brisket. Cover, cook until for tender. Transfer to cutting board, cover with foil and let stand at least 19 minutes before cutting
  4. Stir juices in slow cooker, discard fat from juices. Juices can be thinned or thickened as desired.
  5. Carve brisket across the grain into thin slices and serve.
  6. Tip: To create a complete meal, stir diced red potatoes, sliced carrots, sliced parsnips or turnips into juices during last 2 hour of cooking time
